UTILIZING SKYPE FOR ONLINE THERAPY   Skype is a free computer based video conferencing application and works on most common kinds of computers and operating systems throughout the world.  It is very easy to use and it is highly recommended.  For increased efficiency a high speed internet connection works best.  You will also need a web camera and speakers.  Most modem cameras are equipped with a built in microphone.  It is recommended to also use a headset for increased privacy.  All communication on skype is confidential.  Communication is encrypted by skype before it is transmitted to the internet and then automatically decrypted by the receiving person's computer.  Skype is very easy to download and install.  Go to www.skype.com to download. Skype sessions are conducted the same way, face to face sessions are conducted.    

 To make your sessions more effective 

  • Try to create a private space free of distractions and other presence.
  • Preferably add ten minutes 10 minutes before and after the sessions.  
  • If possible please us a headset with microphone so that your hands are free.
